Ithink it’s safe to say that we’re all having to get a lot more creative when it comes to celebrating special occasions. Gone are the days where simply booking a dinner reservation at your favorite restaurant came easy without a list of rules and restrictions. It’s hard to believe that this is the new normal but since many of us are limited to spending more time at home lately, I thought I’d put together a lockdown-friendly list of date night ideas to keep your Valentine’s Day extra special and exciting this year!
1. EXCHANGE HANDMADE CARDS
Nothing says “I love you” like a cute handmade card from bae. Keep it sweet & simple and don’t overthink it! Cheesy love lines welcome, obviously.

3. SET THE MOOD WITH FLOWERS & CANDLES
We went with traditional red roses from the supermarket this year and bought them a few days before Valentines Day to avoid the last minute V-Day shoppers.
4. COOK A ROMANTIC DINNER TOGETHER AT HOME
Grab a few fresh ingredients from the supermarket & whip up something a little more special than your average everyday dinner. Cooking a meal together is a great opportunity to bond and spend quality time with each other. What’s on our menu tonight? A cliche steak and potato meal! Or you can always order a heart-shaped pizza if you’re feeling… extra cheesy this year hahaha.
5. DRESS UP FOR DINNER
We’re making it date night official by dressing up this year because, why the heck not? I love any excuse to get dolled up and well, Thomas is just following suit to make me happy lol. Rarely will you ever catch me wearing these type of colors but this color combo just screams valentines day vibes — a nice little break from the sweatpants and leggings attire I’ve been living in the last few months.

6. PUT ON YOUR FAVORITE PERFUME
I’ve been obsessed with the Giorgio Armani Si Passione Intense Eau de Parfum lately and recommend this fragrance to anyone that loves a fruity floral scent. 7. MAKE A CHARCUTERIE BOARD
A sophisticated snack tray for later in the evening when your winding down for the night after dinner. They are simple and take no time at all to prepare,
8. BOUJEE COCKTAILS AT HOME
Nothing pairs better with a charcuterie board than fancy homemade cocktails. This year, we’re going with Gin and fresh berries.
9. WATCH A ROMANTIC COMEDY
I love a good Drewbarry Moore & Adam Sandler duo when it come’s to light-hearted romantic comedies. One of my fav’s is 50 First Dates but leave me your rom-com recommendations below!
10. CHANGE INTO FANCY PAJAMAS
Matching sets have been on rotation for me lately. There’s something about them that make me feel a little more put-together without compromising comfort. I suggest treating yourself to a nice satin set for special occasions. I own my fair share of satin pj sets and love how boujee they make me feel at home!
11. A BUBBLE BATH TO END THE NIGHT
There’s nothing like a self-care soak to end the night. Light your favorite candle, put on some spa music and steal a few rose petals from the bouquet if you’re extra like me. Enjoy!
